The Peach Keeper

peachkeeper-lgWilla Jackson and Paxton Osgood were destined to be friends.  It was a friendship that started with their grandmothers long before they formed the Women’s Society Club in 1936.  In high school, Paxton was the class president and belonged to an elite group of friends, while Willa was better known as the Walls of Water Joker.  Now, Paxton is the President of the society and still living with her parents, and Willa lives a quiet life in the home she inherited from her father while running a small sporting goods store in town.

This story begins with an invitation to a gala celebrating the society’s 75th Anniversary at the restored manor that was once owned by the Jackson family.  Intermingled with romance, mystery, intrigue, and an element of magic, The Peach Keeper takes you through a moment in Willa’s and Paxton’s life as the two learn what it means to be a friend and how to open their hearts to love.

As always, Sarah Addison Allen creates her own magic with each book she writes.  When I dive into her magical realm with southern charm, I come back up feeling content and happy.  The Peach Keeper will remain on my shelf for many more enjoyable reads to come.  It makes the perfect book to curl up next to the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter’s day, or to lounge on the beach soaking up the summer sun.
